CHP or Sheriff's Dept. dispatching/Drug Testing?

I am thinking of applying for a dispatcher job. I have been taking a narcotic pain killer (prescribed) for many years--not a lot of it, but just for a long time. I know I need to disclose this on the drug test forms, but what are the chances of it disqualifying me from the position?
