Sachin Tendulkar is a great batsman but has he won any matches for India in truly desperate situations ?? .?

Do read before answering .. I took to watching cricket in the first place because of Sachin Tendulkar (ST) .. It was a delight watching him play with his carefree attitude ( way back in the mid-90's and especially in the 1996 WC ) .. He destroyed reputations ; perhaps his greatest victim was Shane Warne in 1998 .. Warnie was quoted ( or misquoted , one can never tell ) as saying ST haunted him in his sleep .. He used to play in his carefree attitude back then even though he was the main man .. In the just concluded series ( which India won 2-0 as you all know ) , ST had a good tournament ... In the 2nd test , the way the batsmen went about their work , they made it look easy in the end ... It was a lot harder in the 1st test though ... At the end of the 4th day's play , India were 55 for 4 .. ST was still batting .. I had expected ST to go on and do the job .. I was expecting him to silence critics who have often asked the same question as i have asked here .. Nah , ST failed again !! .. India required the services of the destroyer of Aussie bowlers , VVS Laxman to do the job for the team .. While there is little doubt about the greatness of the Little Master , the fact remains he has rarely ( if ever ) won matches for India in truly desperate situations .. Now , you might ask , what is a truly desperate situation .. I'll tell you : all recognized batsmen out , with only tail-enders for company , on a hostile ( turning or bouncing ) wicket , with opposition bowlers coming in full steam .. ST has never won such matches for us ; Dravid and Laxman have had better records in this regard .. Perhaps , the only time ( in test matches ) ST came close to such a feat was against Pakistan ( Chennai , 1999 ) .. He only came close , in the end India lost a close match .. Look , people , i am a fan but i am not a blind follower .. Do read before you leave any hateful comments ..
