I have been retaliated against and terminated from my job due to reporting age discrimination?
I am a 41 year old male in Orlando Florida.I reported to my manager a hostile work environment one of my managers were making for me with several comments he made about my age and that a much younger ociate was being crossed trained to fill my position.After I reported this I was terminated a week and a half later.The employer states I violated a company policy which constitutes misconduct and I was denied unemployment benefits due to this.I have appealed this and now the determination has been reversed.The employer never showed up to the appeals hearing.I have filed with the EEOC and I am awaiting to be contacted by them and could take up to 45 days before they do so.Should I at this time get attorney representation?Any suggestions as to what I should do? And is there attorneys available that will do this pro bono as to I lack the funds to retain an attorney? Any help would be greatly appretiated.
