Why do I have back pain only at night? Please help?
I hope somebody can answer your question because I'm having a very similar problem - but mine is only happening at night & mine doesn't move down my legs or even my lower back - only my upper back & no headache.. Several days ago I woke up during the night with very intense, throbbing upper back pain...no way I turned lying in the bed would or will make it feel better - I have to get up and stand up until ibuprofen kicks in - after that I can lay back down and sleep. I know exactly what you mean about the 'shock' - I was wondering if it isn't a pinched nerve or something but why would I be pretty much 100% fine ALL day long and then only at night have this problem? I've tried sleeping on my couch & chair - same thing happens so it isn't my bed. I've been to my chiropractor a couple of times this week. He did a muscle scan and the tension in my upper back showed up very clearly. He did an adjustment and it really moved - felt great at the time - but at night there is no difference - my problem is still there - no relief at all during the night.
